December 21, 2007 – The 2009 World University Winter Games (FISU) will be hosted in Harbin, China February 18-28 in 2009. The Canadian Team selection information is now available.

Please note the change in eligibility: Previously, the athlete had to be enrolled in full time studies at the time of the Games. Now, an athlete only needs to be officially registered as proceeding towards a degree or diploma at the times of the Games. Under this rule, an athlete does not necessarily need to be taking any courses at the times of the Games, which should open the event up to a larger Canadian athlete pool.
