July 01, 2012 – On Saturday the REG and J2 REG athletes headed out on their final workout of camp – a rollerski-run combo. It was hot, but the breeze kept the athletes rolling along in good form.
Eleven workouts in seven days with six being intensity or speed, makes for a mindful week. Mindful in that the athletes really need to pay attention to the details like hydrating, eating enough calories, rest and recovery.
They are getting more dialed in to this every time this camp is run. I witnessed campers taking advantage of the rainer first days by settling into the cabins with their feet propped up for recovery. Wihtout access to internet and cell phones, rest came easier!
