July 31, 2014 (Craftsbury Common, Vermont) – Get your mountain bike loaded up and get ready for an EPIC event at Craftsbury Outdoor Center, this Sunday, August 3rd! NEW this year, the event includes a free event for kids under 11. In celebration of the Museum’s current exhibit Kick and Glide, Ida Sargent, U.S. Ski Team Nordic member, Olympian, World Championship competitor and Craftsbury Green Team member will lead the Kid¹s event around a 0.75 to 1.5 mile loop. The race course will travel over newly developed trails, so even for seasoned Craftsbury Outdoor Center skiers and bikers like Sargent, this event will be full of challenges. EFTA race classes begin with Juniors age 12-18. This is an event for the whole family.

Additionally, Meghan’s, A Locally Sourced Taco Joint, will be bringing their wares to sate your post-race cravings. Tacos made to order from fresh local ingredients, $3-$5/taco, depending on ingredients! Lost Nation Brewery will also be on hand with beer for all competitors with proper identification.

This year’s event will be sanctioned by the Eastern Fat Tire Association (EFTA), and is Event #7 of the New England Championship Series.  EFTA membership is required, single day membership available on site for $4.00

Craftsbury Outdoor Center is very excited to host this event with is this year, even going so far as to cut us some brand new single track for the course! They’re looking forward to sharing the course with everyone; it’s going to be a great mix of double track (so you can pass – or be passed), old school single track, and brand new single track. It all comes together to form a 5 mile loop with some quick elevation changes and technical riding.

1.5 mile Kids Fun Race (under 12) — FREE!

All paricipants will be eligible for more than $1000 worth of prizes that will be distributed via Bib/Number Draw at awards. Must be present to collect prizes.

Day of Registration available from 7:30-9:30am — entry fee plus $5.00 late fee.
Bib pick up available on race day from 7:30-9:30am at Craftsbury Outdoor Center.

All proceeds from the event go to the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum, a 501c non profit organization.
