4th Annual FIS Ladies Seminar to be Staged in Barcelona

May 15, 2014 (Barcelona) – The 4th FIS Ladies Seminar with the theme “Lady Athletes and their Career After Sports” will take place on Monday, 2nd June 2014 as part of the 2014 FIS Congress in Barcelona.

The seminar, which is open to all FIS Congress participants, will discuss and share lessons about the difficult transition from the field of sports into a professional career for female athletes.

Former ski jumper Andreas Küttel (SUI) will present first results of a benchmark study entitled “After the sports career” which he conducted as part of his study programme at the University of Southern Denmark.

The meeting is enriched by a field of former athletes who successfully managed the journey into a post-athletic career:

– Gabriella Paruzzi (ITA), Chair of the FIS Cross-Country Ladies Committee, World Cup Winner 2004
– Daniela Meuli (SUI), Olympic Champion 2006 in Parallel Giant Slalom
– Maria José Rienda (ESP), Alpine World Cup Ski Racer
– Maroussa Pappou (GRE), Olympian and Alpine Coach
– Sylvana Mestre (SPA), Chair of the IPC Alpine Skiing Sport Technical Committee

The seminar will be rounded out by an Austrian good practice example “KADA – Consulting and integration of women after their sports career” presented by Roswitha Stadlober, former slalom racer and Director General of KADA (“Karriere danach”).
