September 7, 2009 (Canmore, AB) – The Canmore Nordic Ski Club is very pleased to welcome Phil Wood to the coaching staff. Phil joins Roddy Ward, Kathy Davies and Alain Parent to the club’s coaching team. His primary duty will be to lead the Track Attack program, but he will also assist the Train to Train program. Phil takes over the coaching duties left vacant with the departure of Scott VanderMeer.
Phil is also a high performance athlete in the club. He placed 10th in the 10km classic race at last year’s Nationals. “I am very pleased that Phil accepted my invitation to do some coaching with the club. He is a very energetic person and very popular with the junior racing team athletes,” says program director Alain Parent.
