November 15, 2009 – As the Olympic flame heads through the North it re-awakens the proud history of Canada’s world class skiers. Here’s a CBC video of the Olympic Torch run featuring Canada’s Sharon Firth along with memories of Territorial Experimental Ski Training, or TEST, program. Sharon and her sister Shirley spent 17 years on the national cross-country ski team competing at four Olympic Games.
Father Jean–Marie Mouchet, a French missionary priest who had moved to Canada’s Far North, introduced Sharon and her sister Shirley to cross–country skiing and launched the TEST program…
