September 06, 2014 (Wilmington, NY) – Liz Stephen (USST) and Tim Burke (USBA) defended their titles at the 8th annual NYSEF Whiteface Climb to the Castle Rollerski Race. Caitlin Gregg (Team Gregg/Madshus) was second in the women’s race followed by Katherine Ogden (SMS) in third.

Ogden’s teammate Erika Flowers was 4th and Mary Rose (SVSEF) 5th. Stephen’s time of 41:50 beat her time last year of 42:04 which sets a new course record (we believe).

In the men’s race Burke’s time of 38:19 was slower than his 37:13 last year. Claiming second was his teammate Russell Currier followed by Welly Ramsey (MWSC) in third with USST skier Andy Newell in 4th and Lowell Bailey (USBA) in 5th.

The course started at the Whiteface Toll Booth, climbing for 8km/5 miles with an average 8% grade up the Whiteface Memorial Highway to the castle on the summit of Whiteface Mountain, New York’s 5th highest peak with an elevation of 4,867 ft.
