Alberta’s Haig Glacier Camp a Success

provided by CC Alberta

July 27, 2005 – Cross Country Alberta’s first Haig Glacier Camp of the summer was this past week, July 18-22. The 4 day camp, lead by CCA Sport Manager Michael Neary, was shared with John Servold and his Nordic Combined athletes for a total of 17 athletes and coaches taking advantage of the summer ski time.

The weather was very good except for a little rain during the Tuesday morning ski. There were several athletes on the glacier for the first time and everyone enjoyed the skiing and training. There were a few good games of disk golf as well, though some of the disks landed a long way from the target. It was windy and the up drafts carried the disks… or at least that is the story they are sticking to.

Thank you to Joel Jaques for his grooming and the food was great as always. Good job to everyone and we are looking forward to the next camp August 22-29.
