September 15, 2006 – Alpina Sports has signed on as the official boot sponsor of the INDi2010 Racing Team. The team will use Alpina’s revolutionary new Titanium Carbon Control Skate and Classic boots during the 2006-2007 ski season. The Titanium Carbon Composite boot is the first of its kind in Nordic sports, providing superior fit, power transmission and ski control.

“It’s very rare that you find sports equipment that so precisely combines comfort and performance in a single product like the Alpina TCS and SCL boots do,” says team racer Jeff Ellis. “It was a very easy decision for us to make the move to Alpina and Rottefella bindings – we believe they’re making the best products available.”

The INDi2010 team tested Alpina boots and Rottefella bindings extensively at the Haig Glacier in July, with team racers unanimous in their decision to adopt Alpina boots on a team wide basis.

“I’ve had a lot of trouble with compartment syndrome in my shins over the past several winters, in large part because of the boots I was using. This is a great chance for me to solve my problems with superior fit,” said Gordon Jewett.

Mike Doble, sales manager for Alpina Sports, says “we are very pleased to be associated with INDi2010’s commitment to succeed, not only at the pinnacle of racing but also in promoting the sport at the grass roots level”.

The INDi2010 Racing Team will travel throughout the winter with a full demo size run of Alpina’s Sport Performance skate boots, which along with demo Fischer Jibskates with Rottefella bindings, will be available for use by interested skiers. Clubs or groups that are interested in using the Alpina Performance boots for a demo period should email info@indi2010.com or call 403-609-4915.

Alpina has long been recognized as a pioneer and leader in the Nordic ski boot market. The Titanium Carbon Skate and Classic boots provide a revolutionary leap forward in comfort and performance. More information on Alpina boots is available at www.alpinasports.com.
