The Alaska Pacific University (APU) men’s team, including my U.S. Ski Team teammate Erik Bjornsen who I’m currently living with, did bounding intervals this morning. Because I just arrived here in Anchorage yesterday, I didn’t join them. Instead, Erik dropped me off at a random road near his house, a 30 minute stretch of pavement, for me to go back and forth on for my three hour double pole. As I headed off alone in the light drizzle on the marginal pavement with moderate but steady traffic, I was thinking that I could be doing this anywhere in the world.
