Another Transition in the National Office

provided by the CCC

July 4, 2005 – It is with mixed emotions that CCC is preparing to say farewell to Jean-Francois Rapatel. J-F has filled the position of Coordinator of Sport Participation Development since September 2003. He has recently accepted a job offer from Alpine Canada, where he will assume the duties of manager for the Disabled National Ski Team. J-F’s last day in the office will be Thursday, 30 June.

In the past two year’s, CCC’s skill development programs (Bunnyrabbits, Jackrabbits and Track Attack) have grown in popularity and participation levels due in many respects to J-F’s stewardship. In addition the Recruitment to Competitive Skiing program has grown from a standing start to an impressive athlete participation of well over 3,000.

CCC is appreciative of the contribution J-F has made to cross-country skiing in his time with CCC. He has also become a fairly decent skier! But CCC is mindful that J-F started his athletic life as an alpine skier, so is not surprised to see the wheel turn and send him back to the steeper slopes and power-assisted ascents of Alpine Canada. CCC wishes J-F well in his future endeavours.

CCC has initiated a process to find a suitable replacement for J-F. It expects to have a new employee in the Sport Participation Development position by the beginning of August.
