October 29, 2007 (Silver Star, BC) – Hello XC Campers! This is a very short reminder for you to book your XC camp as soon as possible. The XC season at Silver Star Mountain is about to get underway next week-end with opening scheduled for November 3rd!

This year is the 20th anniversary of the XC Camps. To celebrate, we have timed everything for a great celebration of XC skiing. The XC Camps will start November 22 with the US Thanksgiving Special 3 day camp with your choice of either classic or skate. Then, the regular Technique Tune-Up, Technique Camp and the LSD camps get underway. This year, the Nordic Festival will run from Nov 23 to December 2 with all of the ski and equipment suppliers present with their new gear. As well, there are evening presentations planned over and above the regular sessions that go with the camps. For those signed up for the LSD camp or thinking about it, We welcome Ken Sydney to the faculty. Ken is a professor at the university in Thunder Bay and an avid Masters racer. Professor Sydney is doing a research project on exercise and aging athletes and will be joined by Dr. Mike Mandli and Dr. Joe Bouscaren in this project. As LSD camp participants, you will be part of the research but also share in the findings.
