November 20, 2015 – Harald Wurm, the Austrian XC skier who was put under police investigation in September for suspected doping, was given a provisional suspension on Nov. 19, according to an article in the Winnipeg Free Press.

Wurm maintains his innocence, stating that he has not failed any doping tests. Austrian national team coach Gerald Heigl denied any involvement in the Wurm case, but chose to step down until the matter was resolved.

The national doping agency has yet to decide whether it will open proceedings in light of the police investigation.

Doping is a criminal offense in Austria.
