Bring Children to the Snow – Largest Season to Date

May 04, 2016 – Now in its eighth year of operation, Bring Children to the Snow has grown at a rapid pace. Its two programmes SnowKidz and World Snow Day have gained a strong following with over 850 organisers in total. In the 2015/16 season the campaign has seen its largest season with 1,019 events.

Amongst the events, there were 103 resorts across Norway with free lift passes, over 100 resorts in Austria with free lift passes for school children, 143 events celebrating World Snow Day in Latvia, 20 resorts in China with free lift passes, lessons and equipment for children, the largest youth snow sports campaign launched in Spain, 15 events across Sweden as part of the Alle pa Sno program, Europe’s largest theme park EuropaPark constructing a winter wonderland for 500,000 visitors and many more wonderful programmes.

FIS Secretary General Sarah Lewis commented: “This is a great achievement for FIS, the National Ski Associations and everyone involved in snow sports. We are now really starting to see the positive effects of the Bring Children to the Snow campaign achieve precisely that and we look forward to continuing and developing activities in the years to come”
