Canada’s Crawford on the Road to Recovery

by skitrax.com
April 19, 2009 – Canada’s 2006 Olympic sprint Champion Chandra Crawford who missed all of the 2008/09 racing season with a nagging tendon injury underwent successfully surgery for compartment syndrome in late February. “Recovery from the most brutal winter ever is going extremely well. Two months post surgery I am re-introducing some light jogging to the body and doing lots of road riding while on vacation here in Maui. I’m doing lots of physio work and everything in my power to keep things on the up and up.”

Crawford has been busy not just rehabbing her leg but also helping run her highly successful Fast and Female organization along side event director Marie Helene Thibeault. The 2009 Fast and Female Ski Festival annual event recently took place on March 28 at Canada Olympic Park (COP) in Calgary, Alberta. “The energy of 150 girls, 30 instructors, 20 volunteers and 50 parents almost blew the roof off the place. I’m looking forward to implementing a new phase of the program where venues can apply to host events,” added Crawford.
