November 27, 2009 (Ottawa, Ontario) – The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) recently announced the release of its Annual Report 2008-09. “The board of directors and the staff of the CCES are proud to bring you the 2008-09 Annual Report,” says Paul Melia, President and CEO of CCES. “Our theme focuses on a question we are often asked: Ethics in Sport: Why should we care? Our answer challenges Canadians to demand values-based sport – good sport – because good sport produces positive benefits for people and communities.”

The Annual Report demonstrates that the CCES continued to advance its mission to foster ethical sport for all Canadians. The report is available in an online magazine format and can be accessed at www.cces.ca.

Highlights include: highest number of doping control tests; 99.4% of Canadian athletes tested clean; more than $895,000 invested in community sport groups through the True Sport Community Fund.
