August 28, 2008 – The 24th Winter Universiade will take place in the city of Harbin China. The 11-day multi winter sport event is scheduled to take place from February 18th to 28th, 2009. The official opening of the village will take place on February 12th and the official closing will be on March 2nd. The Universiade is a multi-sport event that takes place every two years in various cities all over the world. It is one of the largest sporting events worldwide, second only in size to the Olympic Games.
