2004/2005 National Talent Squad

Purpose
The aim of the National Talent Squad is to identify talented
athletes just below the NST Team 2014 level in the Junior Boy and Girl age
classes for the current season and provide recognition of their performance
as Canada’s up and coming talent pool.

Selection Process
The National Ski Team Committee (NSTC) made the
selections for the 2004/05 National Talent Squad based on consideration of:
results at the Canadian Championships; the CPL standard of 78 and 80 for
first and second year Junior Boys/Girls respectively; and the NST selection
list for any Junior Boys/Girls who were close to making Team 2014. Points
were not used as an absolute measure of performance due to regional
disparities, age and gender factors. Parameters for consideration from
Canadian Championships included: the top-3 aggregate champions for both
Junior Boy/Girls and the aggregate champion Juvenile Boys/Girls; and the
number of medals won at the Canadian Championships.

Benefits
Each athlete selected to the Talent Squad will receive a letter
from the NST recognizing their achievement and a special edition Talent
Squad t-shirt.
