by Peter Graves
October 28, 2009 – Dario Cologna, the 23-year-old sensation who distinguished himself as the first Swiss national to win the 2009 Veissmann XC World Cup, has resumed his on-snow training on the ski tracks of Schnalstal, Italy according to Associated Press from their Bern Bureau.

Cologna spent a month away from serious training when he hurt his right thigh while sprint training last month apparently tearing a muscle which was later confirmed with an MRI.

Swiss Ski Federation officials say that Cologna is back on skis nearly two weeks ahead of his planned comeback. It is expected that Cologna may miss the World Cup opener in Beitostoeln, Norway on November 21 and will prepare to start his season on the home snows of Davos on Dec 12-13.
