September 10, 2008 (Hayward, WI) – The CXC Elite Team September intensity camp wrapped up recently and it was an epic 10 days filled primarily with solid VOmax workouts and time-trials. It was a tough decision, but I opted to stay in Hayward for this camp instead of travelling to Whistler for the camp with my teammates from the US XC Ski Team.

I had a great camp out at Whistler Olympic Park with the team in May, when we were actually skiing on snow on the trails. It was valuable to stay in Hayward with the CXC crew, not only to reduce the amount to stress due to travelling, but also to do workouts where I can track my progress against previous efforts. The camp ended up being ideal, living at home and training with a handful of the fastest skiers in the country.

We’re heading to Minneapolis this weekend to help out at the Twin Cities ski shops annual fall sales, look for us there! I’m bummed to be missing the Chequamegon Fat Tire weekend in Hayward, the largest mountain bike race in North America running from Hayward to Telemark, mostly on the Birkie trail. This weekend is almost as big as Birkie weekend and mountain bikers definitely know how to have a good time!
