October 26, 2009 (Edmonton, AB) – A record 775 guests at Wednesday’s Gold Medal Plates Gala in Edmonton held at the Shaw Conference Centre raised about $285,000 and “The dust hasn’t settled,” said veteran organizer Lisa Pasin in a report by the Edmonton Journal. The event, held in six cities across the country for the last six years, has raised more than $2.8 million in support of Canadian Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
