October 22, 2005 – Congratulations to Elan Skis, the Slovenian ski company celebrating its 60th anniversary. Earlier this month, Elan, known for its innovations in the ski industry for the past six decades, began year-long celebrations and unveiled a limited edition of 60-year anniversary skis.

Elan entered the Nordic ski industry on September 24th, 1945 when founder Rudi Finzgar and some friends began the small company. After some initial success, the company opened its first store and began exporting skis to the USA. Elan also ventured into producing boats and other sports equipment and today is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of skis, snowboards, and high quality yachts.
