In addition, delegations from the next two FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti (FIN) 2017 and Seefeld (AUT) 2019, in addition to a group from the 2019 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Are (SWE), were on hand in conjunction with the FIS Transfer of Knowledge programme.

“It was an excellent two days of presentations,” said FIS President Gian Franco Kasper. “The Falun Organising Committee is in the warm-up area right now and the start gate will be here for everyone very quickly. I am very optimistic that Falun and all its partners will rise to the challenge and present a memorable World Championships.”

It was the ninth Coordination meeting for Falun, but by far the one that carried the most weight, as the final plans were presented for the Championships, which will take place from 18th February – 1st March 2015.

“Falun 2015 has been a true partner since being awarded the Championships nearly five years ago,” said FIS Secretary General Sarah Lewis. “The entire journey in preparing for the 2015 World Championships has gone beyond expectations and the Final Inspection was no different as Falun showed that they are more than prepared to welcome the world in February.”

The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships are expected to showcase athletes from more than 70 nations with a worldwide television audience and an on-site media and broadcast group of more than 1,000 accredited journalists.
