release by Fast and Female

September 22, 2012 (Park City, UT) – For the second year in a row, the Fast and Female Champ Camp will be happening with the help of the ladies of the US Ski Team at the Center for Excellence in Park City, Utah.

This October 7 event includes a fun filled afternoon for girls ages 9-19, including a dryland workout, inspirational presentation, Zumba dancing and an autograph session.

Studies have shown that women who play sports have a more positive body image and experience higher states of psychological well being than women who do not play sports. Furthermore, 80% of top female executives at Fortune 500 companies identified themselves as former “tomboys” – having played sports.

Ambassadors for this event include US Ski Team members Kikkan Randall, Jessie Diggins, Sadie Bjornsen and Liz Stephen as well as Canadian Biathletes Rosanna Crawford and Melanie Schultz.

Parent seminars will include speakers Matt Whitcomb, US XC Women’s Head Coach, Jen Kimball: MPT, DPT and OCS, and Pam Lemons, a sports psychologist.

“With such an active and caring community here in Park City, we had an amazing event last year and expect to have an even better turnout this year,” said US Ski Team member, Liz Stephen. “I am really looking forward to being a part of another amazing Fast and Female day!”

The event is $25 for both parents and youth. Youth participants will receive a t-shirt, a buff, a snack, and a subscription to Pedal or SkiTrax Magazine. Adults will receive a subscription to Pedal or SkiTrax Magazine and a snack. Participants can register until noon on October 6 at http://ffoct72012pc.eventbrite.com/.
