First Snow at Maine Winter Sports Center

release by the Maine Winter Sports Center
October 25, 2008 (Ft. Kent, Maine) – The magic of the 10th Mountain Center in Ft. Kent graced us earlier this week on Wednesday, Oct. 22. Waking up to a lawn turned white overnight it was a great sign that winter is on its way. There was only 2″ in town this morning, but the 10th Mtn. Center sits on top a hill a few hundred feet above town and ironically the weather is different up there. I remember my first winter here when we had two inches in town and 16″ up at the venue. Well once again the magic on the mountain greeted us as we pulled into the parking lot with 4-6″ on the ground. We strapped on our skis and in minutes we were off making first tracks.

Enjoy the pictures!
