FIS Announces Most Successful Industry Brands 2012/13

May 12, 2013 – The past World Cup season has not only seen some outstanding competitions, but also some industry brands that have once again marked their excellence and underscored the substantial support provided by the industry for the sport of skiing.

In the FIS Alpine Skiing brand ranking, Head dominated the scene for the third consecutive year, both on the ladies’ and men’s side. Head is not only atop in the overall standings, but also ranks first in downhill and super-G event rankings on the ladies’ side, as well as in giant slalom and super-G in the men’s category.

Thanks to the amazing performance of Tina Maze, Stoeckli ranks 2nd as Rossignol takes 3rd in the ladies overall rankings while Atomic and Salomon are second and third on the men’s side.

Globally, Head celebrated 28 World Cup wins and 66 podiums during the 2012/13 World Cup winter with athletes including Lindsey Vonn, Ted Ligety (both USA), Anna Fenninger (AUT) and Aksel Lund Svindal (NOR), among others.

Fischer tops ranking in Cross-Country Skiing
The Austrian ski manufacturer Fischer is once again the most successful brand in Cross-Country Skiing. Topping all rankings, including distance and sprint for ladies and men, the global market leader in Nordic Skiing has proven its outstanding performance for the sixth consecutive year since the standings have been put in place. Among the many famous athletes racing for Fischer are Justyna Kowalcyk (POL), Marit Bjoergen and Petter Northug Jr. (both NOR).

In the overall rankings, Fischer is followed by the Norwegian ski and ski-equipment manufacturer Madshus and the French ski and snowboarding brand Rossignol.
