FIS Athletes’ Commission Accepting Nomations for Upcoming Elections

November 28, 2014 – National Ski Associations are invited to submit nominations of candidates for the FIS Athletes’ Commission during the respective FIS World Championships in 2015. The Commission, which discusses and addresses issues concerning athletes, is the link between active athletes and FIS’ advisory and decision-making bodies.

The elected Athletes’ Commission members are part of the Executive Board or main Committee of the FIS Technical Committees in each discipline. Since summer 2014, the Commission is also represented on the FIS Council with an observer position.

The composition for the Athletes’ Commission 2015-2017 is as follows:

  • Cross-Country Skiing: 2 members – 1 female and 1 male
  • Ski-Jumping: 2 members – 1 female and 1 male
  • Nordic Combined: 1 member – 1 female
  • Alpine Skiing: 4 members – 2 females and 2 males
  • Freestyle Skiing: 2 members – 1 female and 1 male
  • Snowboard: 2 members – 1 female and 1 male

Candidates for the Athletes’ Commission should be active athletes and have competed at the previous FIS World Championships 2013 or at World Cup level in season 2012/13.

Nominations will be accepted until one month prior to the opening ceremony of each FIS World Championship detailed in the online nomination form here.
