September 26, 2014 (Val di Fiemme, Italy) – Last weekend the FIS Rollerski World Cup came closed in Val di Fiemme (ITA). The Team Sprint events on Sunday brought the curtains down on the 2014 FIS Rollerski World Cup season. After the first events in Oroslavje (CRO) and Solleftea (SWE), the alpine valley of Val di Fiemme hosted the last three competitions.
Ksenia Konohova took the overall victory in the ladies category with the total of 517 points. Second place went to Linn Somskär (SWE) with 470 points. Thanks to Anna Grushina, third place goes to Russia.
On the men’s side Marcus Johansson (SWE) claimed the overall World Cup victory with 522 points. It was only Johansson who broke in the Italian dominance as the athletes of Squadra Azzura took 2nd to 5th places in the overall standing. Alessio Berlanda claimed second place and Simone Paredi finished third overall.
In the junior rankings, Russia’s Andrey Nischakov and Olga Letucheva earned the trophy and Russia eventually won the Team title.
