FIS Rollerski World Cup – World’s Best Come to Croatia

June 25, 2009 (Croatia) – Hello! It’s less than 10 days before the beginning of the FIS Rollerski World Cup in Croatia – so here’s some information. This is a fifth year in a row that world’s best roller skiers are coming to Croatia, and that the Ski club Oroslavje is a technical organizer of the race. The FIS delegate of this year’s race is Nechati Kaplan (Turkey), national TD is Zarko Galjanic and the race director is Albert Kontakt.

This year the FIS Rollerski World Cup will start on Thursday, July 2, with teams arriving for official training. A day later on Friday, July 3, the first race on schedule takes place – a Prologue uphill race, 7km long from Stubicke Toplice (Pila) to Sljeme (best known for Snow Queen Trophy, FIS alpine slalom World cup race). The race starts at 17.00 hours.

On Saturday, July 4 at 17.00 hours is start of pursuit race on a 2km long race course in center of Oroslavje. The senior man race 30km, and the other competitors have a 20km long race. In the evening the opening ceremonies will take place on main town square in Oroslavje.

On Sunday, July 5, are the sprint competitions. The day starts with the qualifications at 10.00 hours, and at 11.00 hours will be finals. Following the races is the prize ceremonies.
