February 18, 2008 – Fischer will be introducing their highly anticipated RCS Carbonlite Skate and Classic boots for the first time to the public at the on-snow Birkie Demo on Feb 21-22. With two years of research and development, the RCS Carbonlite Skate and Classic boots were redesigned from the ground up to be the ultimate boot for the elite citizen racer and World Cup athlete alike.

RCS Carbonlite Skate
The RCS Carbonlite Skate is built around a new F5 Pebax Skating sole made exclusively for Fischer by Rottefella. This exclusive Fischer sole provides the lowest possible stance on the ski for the best feel and control. The skating sole is asymmetric which gives excellent torsional stability and support. The boot also utilizes a carbon intermediate layer for added sole stiffness and carbon flex cuff for the optimal balance of forward flex and lateral stiffness. This balance is created by using two different materials, Delrin for forward flex, and carbon for the lateral stiffness. The combination creates a boot that has unmatched stability and power transfer.

Fischer’s Snake Lacing System (patent pending) and Heel Fit Strap ensure an optimum fit for every skier. The Snake Lacing System is unique in that the laces only cross once, creating a continuous loop that ensures even pressure distribution around the foot. This unique lacing system combined with the neoprene sock allows the boot to fit a wide variety of foot volumes and shapes. The Heel Fit Strap adds to the level of customization by providing added adjustability and heel hold through a strap located inside the boot.

With Fischer’s Canting System, skiers can individually adjust the alignment of the Carbon Flex Cuff to his or her needs, allowing the skier to ride a flat ski. There are three different positions to choose from to adjust both the medial and the lateral height up to 4mm.

RCS Carbonlite Classic
The ultimate classic boot will also be the lightest racing boot on the market next year. Using the F5 Pebax Classic sole, made by Rottefella exclusively for Fischer, this boot has a silky, soft flex which allows the skier the best possible feel for the snow during the kick phase when striding. The World Cup Carbon Shell wraps the heel and lower ankle, providing direct power transfer and excellent control.

Fischer’s Snake Lacing system and Heel Fit Strap create optimum fit and hold for every skier. And a neoprene inner sock and seamless upper keeps the foot warm and dry while skiing in the most adverse conditions.

Try Them Out at the Birkie On-snow Demo
Fischer is excited to introduce our new boot technology to the racers coming to the 2008 American Birkie. Currently, our Fischer World Cup and domestic racers are using these boots with success.
