January 10, 2003 – Hardwood Hills has hosted many versions of Loppets since it opened in 1983, and this year is celebrating its 20th Anniversary with the revival of the Fischer Loppet, March 6th, 2004. The Fischer Loppet will offer a 50 km or 25 km freestyle events in the morning, and then Youth Jackrabbit races of 10, 5, 2.5, and 0.5 kms in the afternoon. “We wanted to offer skiers the motivation to keep skiing and keep fit through the later part of the season, and also make it a day the whole family can enjoy,” explained Glenn Meeuwisse of Hardwood Hills. “There has been a lack of races in Southern Ontario over the past few years.”
