Fossavatnsgangan Iceland Loppet 25km FR – USA’s Caitlin Gregg Wins, Brian Gregg 2nd in Men’s Race

April 27, 2017 (Ísafjörður, Iceland) – Sunshine greeted skiers as the USA’s Caitlin Gregg took the win in the women’s 25km Freestyle race today in Iceland while her husband Brian Gregg finished second in the men’s competition behind winner Snorri Einarsson (NOR). US skier Jake Brown finished third and David Knoop of NNF fame was 11th overall. The top Canuck was Amish Morrell in 33rd.

Today’s event is a warm up to the Worldloppet 50km F feature race being held on April 29th. Also featured today was the Children’s Fossavatn with 5km and 1km races. Known as the Fossavatnsgangan, the Iceland Loppet debuted in 1935 and has been part of Worldloppet since 2014.
