April 29, 2017 (Õsaf, Iceland) – Petter Northug Jr. (Nor) took the win in the men’s signature 50km CL race today at the Fossavatnsgangan, Iceland Loppet, the final race of the Worldloppet 2016/17 Series. Brian Gregg led the North American charge finishing just off the podium in 4th.

Britta Johansson Norgren from Sweden was chased by a posse of American women led by Caitlin Gregg who claimed 2nd on the day with Brandy Stewart third, and Laura McCabe in fourth. Johansson Norgren placed 12th overall while Gregg was 18th. The Iceland Loppet debuted in 1935 and has been part of Worldloppet since 2014.
