Kicks Off Today At STAPLES Business Depot!

October 23, 2006 – Today STAPLES Business Depot/BUREAU EN GROS is launching its seventh annual “Give a Dollar. Share a Dream.” fundraising campaign to help send Special Olympic athletes to the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Shanghai, China.

STAPLES Business Depot/BUREAU EN GROS customers can help make Special Olympic athlete’s dreams come true by donating. With each donation, customers are given the opportunity to write messages of inspiration and encouragement on a postcard that will be delivered directly in the hands of the athletes preparing for the World Games.

“The Give a Dollar. Share a Dream.” campaign allows people across the country to help change the lives of athletes with an intellectual disability – just by donating,” said Deborah Bright, President and CEO of Special Olympics Canada. “STAPLES Business Depot continues to support the dream of Special Olympic athletes each year through fundraising campaigns and we are all very grateful for the ongoing support from STAPLES Business Depot and their customers.”

Over the past six years, the Give a Dollar, Share a Dream.” campaign has raised more than $2 million for Special Olympics Canada. This year, the goal is to raise over $500,000. “The Give a Dollar. Share a Dream.” campaign is an integral part of STAPLES Business Depot’s culture. Supporting Special Olympics Canada athletes and helping them achieve their goals is very important to us,” said Steve Matyas, President, STAPLES Business Depot. “This program continues to grow year after year and we are very proud to be a National Sponsor.”
