Godefroy Bilodeau Joins the Coaching Team of the Centre National D’entraînement Pierre-Harvey

June 20, 2009 (Quebec City, QC) – The Centre national d’entraînement Pierre-Harvey (CNEPH) in Quebec City is proud to announce that Mr. Godefroy Bilodeau has joined its permanent coaching staff. Mr. Bilodeau will work closely in collaboration with Mr. Louis Bouchard, head coach of the CNEPH and Mr. Sacha Bergeron, chief ski technician.

Mr. Bilodeau brings to the CNEPH a vast coaching experience at provincial and national level. The hiring of Godefroy allows to significantly increasing the CNEPH’s program capacity and will therefore greatly help to meet the strong demand generated by the recent successes achieved by the CNEPH athletes and the training center’s reputation of excellence. Consequently, the CNEPH is now able to accept additional athletes for the 2009-10 season.

Mr. Bilodeau’s core responsibilities will include planning of training sessions and supporting the athletes preparation for national and international competitions.

Godefroy has a bachelor degree in kinesiology from Université Laval in Quebec City. He is also a NCCP level 3 certified coach and is about to complete his level 4 certification through the Montreal National Coaching Institute program.

Godefroy has been Skibec Nordique’s head coach for most of the period between 2000 and 2009. He also benefits from international events experience as he took part in the World Junior Championships as a member of Canada’s support team in Solleftea, Sweden in 2003 and again in Malles, Italy in 2008, as well as on the World Cup in Silver Star, Canada, in 2005.

Godefroy joins our team with the motivation and the main objective of contributing to the CNEPH’s mandate of supporting the athletes’ development and help them reach their full potential on their way to the senior national team.
