September 23, 2007 – Golden Alpine Holidays Inc. (GAH) is undertaking to develop a unique Alpine based Nordic Trail System, complete with groomed and track set trails. This facility will be located adjacent to Sentry Mountain Lodge in the safe, elevated and protected plateau area we call Secret Valley. The primary reasons we feel we have a world class Nordic product are:

1. Dependable and stable snow coverage from October to June.
2. High base elevation averaging 2100+ meters.
3. Early season training center for athletes or amateurs.
4. Quick and easy helicopter access via Golden, BC or from our Staging area located 50 kilometers west from Golden on the Trans Canada Highway.

Phase I is now complete. It involved acquiring the right kind of snow machine for the job. GAH now has a new Skandic, wide-track, utility work sled. Dawn Mountain Nordic Club located at Kicking Horse Resort have graciously donated a groomer for this pilot project as well. Our trails have been scouted and along with our guides, we will shortly begin staking out our prospective routes.

Phase II, involves assessment of the viability of this project. GAH needs to evaluate which market makes the most sense for such a product. We are not sure at this time whether this will cater to the recreational x-country skier looking to jumpstart their season, local/international Nordic team(s) development or as a compliment to our established Alpine Touring, Tele-marking and Snowboarding market.

GAH is looking for input from a variety of groups regarding this project. Shortly, trail grooming and track setting will commence. Depending on snow pack and trail development we could be days away from being ready to go. Secret Valley should be ready to test drive soon. We are seeking to determine whether you or your group decision maker would be receptive to being some of the first people to Nordic ski at Secret Valley?
