November 29, 2008 (Pinkham Notch, NH) – The Great Glen Trails will open for the 2008/2009 winter season today. Great Glen Trails will be open daily from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. for cross country skiing. Thanks to a foot of new snow in the last week, Great Glen Trails has been able to groom 12 kilometers of terrain for both skate and classic skiing. One of the few cross country ski areas with snowmaking capabilities, Great Glen Trails will continue to improve the skiing as temperatures allow by making snow throughout the week.

Great Glen Outfitters is also open daily with a complete selection of winter gear and accessories.

On Saturday, December 6, Great Glen Trails is scheduled to host the first Nordic ski race of the season in New England, the Atomic Sprints at Great Glen. If conditions allow, more than 100 racers from high school to masters are expected to compete in this exciting sprint race format. Great Glen Trails will be open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The SnowCoach and snow tubing hill are not yet operating but will be as soon as conditions allow.
