Hamilton School To Celebrate 2006 Olympic Winter Games With Canadian Olympic School Program

January 30, 2006 – On February 1, over 600 students at Ray Lewis Elementary School in Hamilton will take part in the Canadian Olympic Committee’s (COC) Canadian Olympic School Program, presented by RBC. Two-time (1998, 2002) Olympian Lori Dupuis (Cornwall, Ont., ice hockey) will be on hand to talk to students about the program while 1936 Olympian James Worrall (Toronto, Ont., athletics) will present a COC flag to the school in honour of his friend, former teammate and 1932 Olympic bronze medallist, the late Ray Lewis (Hamilton, Ont., athletics).

The Canadian Olympic School Program, available at www.olympicschool.ca, is an online teacher resource that connects information about the Olympic Games and Canadian athletes to the curriculum in the areas of language, mathematics, and health & physical education. The goal of the program is to educate, motivate and inspire students to become Smarter, Better and Stronger.
