December 29, 2009 (Canmore, Alberta) – After five competitions, the women’s Haywood NorAm Series has been dominated by Dasha Gaiazova (Can) while Drew Goldsack (Can) has made considerable gains in the men’s standings with two strong performances in the Teck sprints at the Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park on Dec. 19-20.
Americans Garrett Kuzzy (USST/CXC) and Mark Iverson (Rossignol) are in 2nd and 10th in the standings, while Holly Brooks (APUNSC) is tied for fourth and Rebecca Dussault (CXC) is 9th.
The Haywood NorAm series and Teck Sprints resumes on January 2, at Val Cartier, Quebec. The events will also serve as the Canadian World Junior and U23 Championship trials. Complete information on the weekend’s events can be found here.
