November 24, 2005 (Sovereign Lake, B.C.) – The Haywood NorAm Canada Cup Cross Country Ski Races are being staged at Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre this weekend, November 26 & 27.

This is an International Ski Federation (FIS) sanctioned race and as such a test event for the World Cup scheduled for December 10 & 11 at Sovereign Lake.

There are over 200 skiers entered at this point, including Canada’s national team, members of the US team and some European skiers.

The schedule is:

Saturday, November 26
– 9:30 am – Pursuit race for men
– 11:30 am – Pursuit race for women

Sunday, November 27
– 9:30 am – Free technique sprint race
– 11:30 am – Qualifying round and heats for both men & women

There is no admission charge for the NorAm Canada Cup races and parking at Sovereign Lake will be available.
