March 28, 2012 (Jay Peak, Vermont) – Noah Hoffman (SSCV/USST) and Liz Stephen (Burke Mountain/USST) won the men’s and women’s Hill Climb Freestyle events respectively, part of the US Super Tour Finals, held earlier today at Jay Peak, Vermont.

Hoffman completed the gruelling 1.8km climb up the slopes of Jay Peak, during which competitors gain just over 1,000 feet of elevation, in a time of 13:10.7. CXC’s Brian Gregg was second, finishing 10.2 seconds behind, followed closely by Kris Freeman (SSCV/USST) another 3.1 seconds back.

In the women’s race, Stephen came out on top with a time of 15:06.7 followed by Jessie Diggins (CXC/USST) in second at 6.6 seconds behind, with SVSEF’s Chelsea Holmes taking the final podium spot at 13.9 seconds behind Stephen.

After today’s hill climb event Freeman holds onto the men’s overall SuperTour Finals mini-tour lead, while Diggins bumps Sadie Bjornsen out of the top spot in the women’s overall standings.
