Interview With Jay Hakkinen After 20km Race – Video

November 30 (Kontiolahti, Finland) – Jay Hakkinen (Kasilof, AK) talks about his best-ever season opening World Cup competition, ninth place result in Thursday’s 20km Individual, in an interview following his race.

Hakkinen missed one shot in his first visit to the range and one in his last trip, adding two penalty minutes to his time. Overall, he finished in 53:32.1.

In today’s Women’s 7.5K Sprint, Lanny Barnes (Durango, CO) was perfect on the shooting range, yet finished in 80th place, 2:36.1 behind Martina Glagow’s winning time of 21:24.1. The German who also won yesterday had her second clean shooting day in a row. She topped teammate Kati Wilhelm by a mere three-tenths of a second and third finisher Tora Berger of Norway by six-tenths. Wilhelm had one penalty, while Berger shot clean. Tracy Barnes (Durango, CO) finished 89th, with two penalties, 3:00.6 back.

The US men will compete in tomorrow’s 10K Sprint, scheduled for 2:45 PM, Finland time.
