January 26, 2009 (Toronto, ON) – Team registrations are well underway as we ramp up for the inaugural international SkiTrax Fantasy FIS World Cup 2009 Contest following the success of our recent Fantasy FIS Tour de Ski 2008.09. With 13 races left on the Veissmann 2009 XC World Cup Calendar anything can happen, so test your skills and know-how against contestants from around the world.

We were stoked by the interest from international contestants in our TdS Contest – the winner was Marius Urstad from Stavanger, Norway and he’s excited about his Rossignol-One Way prize package.

For our 2009 World Cup Contest the top prize is a Fischer 09/10 Package including RCS Carbonlite Skate Skis, Bindings and RCS Vasa Poles (value $1,000 US) – check out more great prizing below still being finalized.

Here’s How it Works
Register your team of four (4) men, and four (4) women including two (2) Outlaw Skiers – one (1) male and one (1) female not in the top 15 of the FIS World Cup overall rankings. All menus are available now and the deadline to register your team and team name, or to make changes, is 6 pm EST on Jan. 29 – the day before the Rybinsk, Russia WCup where the USA’s Kikkan Randall won sprint gold in Dec. 2007.

Points, Prizes
Points will be awarded based on skier performance following each World Cup and we’ve added some unique bonus points such as Liberec Points, Nations Cup Points etc. – all contest rules and info are available here. Contest standings will be published periodically so you can follow your team’s progress and see how you compare with other players.
