June 15, 2014 (Canmore, AB) – Jamie Coatsworth is the new President of Cross Country Canada (CCC) following the unexpected resignation of Richard Lemoine prior to this weekend’s AGM (Annual General Meeting) in Canmore, AB. Lemoine has been involved with the sport since 1999 and was president since 2012 apparently leaving over discord with Executive Director, Davin MacIntosh, as to the role of the Board of Directors within the association.

This news follows the national team’s difficult Olympics at Sochi 2014 and budget cuts, including recent announcements of other changes with Head Coach Justin Wadsworth assuming a new role as team leader and the hiring of accomplished Norwegian skier and coach, Tor-Arne Hetland. Wadsworth will oversee Canada’s National Team (“NST”) programs including those based in National Team Development Centres hoping to better align programming and create an improved development pipeline – read more here and here.
