November 23, 2007 – If you are a bright, aggressive, energetic and organized individual with a strong desire to Succeed, the 2010 Arctic Winter Games Society is looking for you. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the General Manager will be a proven professional and will be responsible for the implementation and coordination of all aspects of the 2010 Arctic Winter Games, March 6 -13 in Grande Prairie, Alberta.

This multi-sport event requires you to develop tools to enhance the effectiveness of volunteers and paid staff. Develop and maintain internal communication systems with both internal and external shareholders. The ability to build strong alliances and relationships, anticipate, and respond to sponsor needs in a manner that preserves excellent customer relationships. Support the Board of Directors and their committees and monitor all aspects of fiscal responsibility to ensure that timelines and budgets are on target.

The successful candidate will possess:

– extraordinary communication and problem solving skills
– a proven track record working with volunteer boards and paid staff
– the ability to build, motivate and evaluate relationships with diverse groups of people and facilitate their interests
– experience working with youth and sports groups of varying cultures
– knowledge of multi-sport events and the political processes
– related post secondary education and previous Games experience preferred
– And of course fly with a Cape! We are looking for a Superstar to take us to a completely new level.
