Position: Director of Sport Physiology

Job Description:
The Canadian Sport Centre Manitoba (CSCM) is a proud member of the Canadian Sport Centre (CSC) network having opened in March 1997. The CSCM was created as one of the many legacies of the 1999 Pan American Games held in Winnipeg and is committed to supporting high performance athletes and coaches in their pursuit of podium performances in national and international competitions. The CSCM provides services and programs to enhance the training environment for athletes and coaches throughout the province. The provision of Performance and Life Services is accomplished through a combination of expertise found within CSCM staff members and a network of qualified service providers.

The CSCM is currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed leader to join our team as the Director of Sport Physiology.

Director of Sport Physiology Competition # 003

Number of Positions: One

Reports to: General Manager

Purpose of the Position: The Director of Sport Physiology is responsible for developing and delivering leading edge scientific support services and research to Manitoba’s elite athletes and coaches. This work may be accomplished through individual athlete and coach consultations, team consultations and collaborative work within the Performance Enhancement Teams. The Director works closely with athletes, coaches and will lead 3-4 Performance Enhancement Teams to ensure a safe, effective and holistic approach to enhancing performance and personal excellence. The Director is also expected to develop positive working relationships with Team Manitoba’s Canada Games program, provincial teams and Manitoba’s post secondary institutions.

Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba Work Conditions: Full time position; initial three (3) year term Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience Closing Date: 5:00 p.m. (CST), Tuesday, October 31, 2006
