Job Opportunity at Cross Country Canada – Athlete Services Coordinator

August 31, 2014 – Cross Country Canada is the National Sport Organization for cross-country skiing in Canada and is currently seeking to fill the position of Athlete Services Coordinator (“ASC”) for its national office in Canmore, Alberta.

The ASC position is a permanent full-time position, and is located at the Cross Country Canada National Office, at the Canmore Nordic Centre in Canmore, Alberta. The ASC reports directly to the High Performance Director.

The position provides critical administrative support to Cross Country Canada’s High Performance system, structures and programs, with specific responsibilities for athlete servicing, management of team uniforms and branding, management of supplier pool soft goods, athlete assistance programs, race license management and updating the High Performance sections of the CCC webpage.

A successful candidate should possess:

· Direct experience and commitment to High Performance sport, preferably in cross-country skiing.
· The ability to work as an engaged team player to support Cross Country Canada’s High Performance teams to achieve their goals.
· The ability to work with a high degree of independence combined with a high attention to detail and problem solving ability while managing a broad and diverse work load.
· Resourceful self-starter aptitude which includes accepting responsibility for new tasks and alertness to opportunities to add value to Cross Country Canada.
· Post-secondary education in Sport Administration, Physical and Health Education, Business or a combination of related education and experience.
· Excellent computer skills in all Microsoft software programs and experience with web site management and web maintenance.
· Experience with accounting and expertise with Simply Accounting software. (preferable).
· Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (essential) and French (highly desirable).
· Receptivity to working in a changing and evolving work environment.
· Flexibility & willingness to work some overtime and weekends in the peak seasons.

As a permanent full-time employee, the Athlete Services Coordinator will be eligible for employee benefits in accordance with CCC’s employee benefits policy.  Starting salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
