The Canadian Sport Institute (Calgary) strives to provide athletes with a physical, psychological and competitive edge.  To accomplish this goal, the Canadian Sport Institute provides a variety of programs and services for the high-performance athlete.  One such service is in the area of exercise physiology testing, monitoring and program design that our experts provide to over 400 high performance athletes every year.  The Canadian Sport Institute and Winsport Canada are partnering to provide this service to sporting public members as a part of the new Winsport Canada Performance Training Centre.

As the Membership Program Specialist, your primary purpose will be to lead the area of the public membership in ensuring the sporting public is provided with the proper membership package that can include program evaluation, physiological testing, program design, and continued monitoring.  You will also lead the area of specialists that will conduct testing and monitoring, interpretation of results and program planning to Winsport Canada’s sporting public members.  You will provide the yearly planning to maximize the member’s physiological preparation to help them reach their goals.  As an integral part of the team you will be required to lead the operation of the public physiological testing area and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

The Canadian Sport Institute is seeking an energetic individual who is passionate about working with the sporting public and who has excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal and organizational skills.

Qualifications/Expertise:
– A masters degree in an exercise science related field (i.e. Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology) is preferred
– CSEP- Exercise Physiologist (CSEP-CEP) certification.  Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist is an asset.
– Significant experience (minimum of 5 years) in the field of applied exercise physiology, sporting pubic physiological testing and program design.
– Experience conducting physiological testing protocols and operation of physiological and biochemical testing equipment.
– Must be able to work well and lead others in a team setting, communicate, organize, problem solve and multitask.
– Experience in team management and leadership is an asset.
– Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
– Strong interpersonal communication skills are required (verbal and written)
– Self-motivated, resourceful and capable of making decisions within established guidelines.
– Successful completion of a Criminal Records Check
