April 16, 2008 – The Canmore Nordic Ski Club is currently looking to hire a cross country ski coach. The successful candidate will have a proven background as an athlete or coach, have NCCP level 2 certification (or willing to work towards it), have excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills and must show enthusiasm for the sport.

Canmore Nordic Ski Club background:
The Canmore Nordic Ski Club (CNSC) is a strong grassroots/development club with over 500 members. Programs range from Jackrabbits (over 200), through Track Attack, and Junior racers, into Masters Training/Racing and Adult learn to ski programs. The club also has a very strong biathlon program.

The CNSC has co-hosted a number of major events with the Foothills Nordic Ski club, including the 1988 Olympics, the Masters World cup and more recently the Alberta World cups. The CNSC’s Rocky Mountain Ski Challenge is held annually. The CNSC has a program director, two year round coaches, and over 40 volunteer coaches. The CNSC is proud to have four club members currently on the National Ski Team. The club is dedicated to Sport for Life and serving the community by providing quality programming for non-competitive and competitive athletes alike.
