GUNSTOCK NORDIC CENTER MANAGER
Full Time – Winter Seasonal

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gunstock Mountain Resort is looking for a dynamic leader with a passion for snowsports to manage our Nordic Center. The Nordic Center Manager is responsible for the overall management, organization, supervision and growth of the Nordic Center program and operations, including cross-country skiing and lessons, snowshoeing, skijoring, and competitions, as well as equipment rentals, demos and retail sales. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: hire, train, and motivate 4-6 seasonal Nordic Center personnel and oversee daily staffing to meet business needs; work with Snowmaking department to manage and assist with the maintenance and grooming of the cross-country ski and snowshoe trails; develop and implement a retail and merchandising plan and work with resort buyers to maintain a robust retail operation.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Associates degree, 4 years related experience, and/ or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Affiliation with PSIA, AASI, or USSA preferred. Successful applicant must attain Level I Certification from PSIA, AASI, or USSA within 2 years of hire and continue professional development with the chosen organization moving forward.
- 3-5 years of experience in retail sales or hospitality management required; ability to act as a problem solver and leader in emergency situations and handle all situations courteously and efficiently.
- Working knowledge and demonstrated ability to use MS Office Suite.? Understanding of ticketing /POS software with the ability to gain understanding of Sirius Software.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 18 years of age or older with good physical coordination; ability to regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move 25 pound; ability to work in variable outdoor weather conditions.
SCHEDULING:
Position requires 40-48 hours per week including days, weekends, and holiday shifts.
